The Town of Fishers is hosting two Town Hall meetings for newly annexed Geist Residents to come forward with ideas for the Geist Annexation Improvement Board. The purpose of the Town Hall meetings is to present more information on the Geist Annexation Improvement Fund and open the floor for residents' suggestions on capital improvement projects in the area.

The Geist Annexation Improvement Board recently began discussions on the future of the $2.5 million fund designated for capital community improvement projects in the Geist area. The board consists of 9 Geist residents, appointed by the Fishers Town Council, who will review all incoming applications for funding and will decide which projects move forward for Town Council Approval.

The Town Hall meetings will be held on Monday, February 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Geist Elementary School Cafeteria and Monday, March 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Geist Elementary School Gym.

The Geist Annexation Improvement Fund was created from property taxes in the Geist area and was part of the annexation fiscal plan. In addition to the $2.5 million, the Town of Fishers committed to building a fire station, a park and investing $5 million in road projects.

Any Geist area residents or oranization can apply for a capital community project specific to the annexed Geist area of Fishers.
