Arcadia Louvered Luxury Roofs Enhance Outdoor Living

Writer  /  Lynda Hedberg Thies

In Indiana, we seem to have a fickle relationship with the weather. We love it, and then without warning, it changes, and well, not so much.

But what if there was a way to enhance the seasons and extend your ability to spend more time outside without requiring moving or traveling? What if at the push of a button, you could protect yourself from the heat of the sun, have protection from hot or cold temperatures and shelter from a rain shower, and not have to move a single thing or reschedule?

Sound too good to be true? Not anymore! Louvered Roofs have arrived!

Arcadia Midwest was started by Carmel residents Claudio and Anna Bertolini to bring the Arcadia Adjustable Louvered Roof system to the Midwest. Claudio spent his career in the medical device industry and was looking for a change. One of his former coworkers began working with the company and invited them to the headquarters in Atlanta to consider owning a distributorship.

After visiting the company, they were invited to dine with the owners in an upscale sushi restaurant in downtown Atlanta on a hot 98 degree day. Their hosts invited them to eat outdoors, but they wanted nothing to do with the idea.

As an Arcadia client, the louvered roof opened, the fans began to whirl and then the temperature dropped 20 degrees in a matter of seconds. They were so impressed and immediately recognized a need for the product in central Indiana. Arcadia Midwest was born.

Arcadia Adjustable Louvered Roof systems are designed for residential as well as corporate applications. The roofs are custom-designed and constructed of aluminum. They are operated manually or by remote control and will fit an existing building or can be constructed as a stand-alone structure.

They include gutters to take the water away from the structure. They are lightweight but are strong enough to withstand hurricane winds of up to 180 miles per hour and can withstand six to seven feet of snow!

There are many custom options including ceiling fans, custom colors, columns and accent lighting, so that they can also be enjoyed in the evening. There is even an iPhone App along with rain/wind programmability to offer you the ultimate choreographed operating systems and much more.

The Bertolinis are very customer-focused and want to ensure that their customers are completely satisfied with the entire process. This is not only a tremendous benefit to homeowners but to restaurants and businesses that offer outdoor seating.

For restaurants, inclement weather can determine whether they can offer outdoor seating and cost business. But for Rick Albrecht of Rick’s Café Boatyard on Eagle Creek, the benefits of the Arcadia system provided a consistent way for him to offer an outdoor dining experience, no matter the forecast.

“I think it’s outstanding. When I first looked at the product, I thought it was a great answer for me. It lets the light in in the morning or night, we can close it off for the rain or snow and we can use our patio for almost nine months of the year.”

Since this product can be enjoyed almost year-round, the best time to contact the Bertolinis is when you decide you are tired of the weather determining if and when you will be able to spend time outdoors.
