Center Grove High School (CGHS) continued its tradition of excellence in art at the annual Scholastic Art Competition where it received 58 awards.
Nearly half of the art submitted by CGHS students received various recognitions of merit by the panel of judges. 
CGHS received 18 Gold Key Awards which qualifies the winner for national competition. Center Grove also received 19 Silver Key Awards. Twenty-one works of art received Honorable Mention Award recognition. The Gold and Silver Key art will be on display at Clowes Hall on the Butler campus from Tuesday, February 18th through Sunday, March 9. Butler University is hosting the competition for the fifth year.
CGHS student Holly Clark received two Gold Keys, including one for her Photography Portfolio, which documents the destruction a fire did to her home. Her photograph “Upstairs” is shown above. CGHS student Nicole Massy received three Gold Keys, including one for her drawing “Titan”, shown at left.
The Scholastics Central and Southern Indiana Region competition had more than 2000 submissions with 222 Gold Keys, 256 Silver Keys, and 325 Honorable Mention awards. Here are the winners:
