CG-School-Logo.185wCenter Grove Elementary School (CGES) staff and students will hold a ceremonial groundbreaking to mark the start of an $8 million renovation project scheduled to begin at the end of the school year.

Students will gather outside the school for a ribbon-cutting, followed by an all-school photo of students and staff in yellow and pink construction hats forming the letters C-G-E-S on the lawn.

The CGES construction project includes the addition of four classrooms, relocation of the gymnasium, and renovations throughout the building. The project will also address security issues with the main and gymnasium entrances.

The CGES renovations are part of the Center Grove Community School Corporation’s Safety, Security, and Stewardship project. The total project will improve the safety and security of all eight Center Grove school buildings and address major educational effectiveness and capacity issues at CGES, North Grove Elementary, and Center Grove High School. The entire $42 million project will be funded without increasing the tax rate for residents of White River Township.
