Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz announced Monday that Center Grove’s five schools are among 313 Indiana schools that have been honored with 2013 Four Star School Awards. The award is the highest state distinction and is based on overall attendance rates, student achievement and performance on the ISTEP+ during the 2011-2012 school year.

“I am honored to name these schools as our Four Star Schools for this year,” said Ritz. “Winning this award required excellent work by teachers, administrators, students and parents throughout the year and on behalf of the entire Indiana Department of Education I send them my sincere congratulations.”

Center Grove High School as well as Middle School Central and Middle School North were named Four Star Schools. Elementary schools in the corporation that earned recognition are Center Grove and Maple Grove.

“We are extremely proud of this recognition! This award recognizes the culmination of the dedication of staff and parents as well as the hard work of our students,” said Rich Arkanoff, Superintendent.

To earn the distinction, a school must be in the top 25th percentile of schools in ISTEP+ testing results.
