Despite the hot dry weather the Greenwood Freedom Festival fireworks and all, was held Friday night and Saturday. A breeze help with the afternoon heat an by evening the crowds started to pour into the event. This year featured something new a micrbrew, wine, and food area setup on the grounds of the Greenwood Library. Location restaurants sold food and area wineries and brewers were on hand as well. The event kicked off Friday night with music from Donna Jones, the Greenwood Community Band, The Woomblies Rock Symphony Ochestra featuring Cathy Morris (Friday events here). Saturday featureda new Microbrew/Wine/Restaurant Garden in the city library parking lot. The garden will feature local restaurants such as Jockamo Pizza, microbrews and wineries including Mallow Run.
