Greenwood-A-glowEach year Greenwood-A-Glow celebrates the Holiday season. This year’s event will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 , from 3-7 p.m. It begins at the Greenwood Public Library with crafts, shows, food and Santa Claus. Later in the night (5:00) the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at the new Greenwood City Center will take place. Below is a complete schedule of events for the night.

Tree Lighting Ceremony
5-5:45 p.m.
Join Santa Claus and community leaders as we celebrate the Holiday Season. The tree lighting will occur at the City Center. Enjoy some entertainment from local choirs including the Isom Elementary Honors Choir. After the tree lighting follow Santa to the Greenwood Public Library for more fun activities.

Pictures with Santa
3–5:20 p.m., 6–7 p.m.
Have you been naughty or nice? Children are invited to have a picture with Santa Claus for a $2 per picture donation to OTGA.

Coloring Room and Craft Time
3-7 p.m.
Relax and enjoy one of the many coloring packets available for children plus make a memorable FREE craft to take home and remember the 2014 Greenwood-A-Glow . The coloring and craft areas are located in the Children’s Department on the first floor.

Food and Drinks
3-7 p.m.
Hungry? Need a snack? The Kiwanis Club of Greenwood will be serving food, drinks and treats for a minimal charge. The food counter will be located on the first floor of the library under the stairs.

Holiday Puppet Show
4 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m.
Come see a Holiday puppet show performed by Peewinkle’s Puppet Studio. Peggy Melchior presents a captivating creative holiday puppet show for children of all ages and adults. Tickets are $2 per person and the shows take place at the library’s community room C.

Carriage Rides
4-7 p.m.
Enjoy a short stroll around the library’s winter wonderland. Carriage rides are available for all ages and cost $2 per person donation to OTGA. Tickets can be purchased inside the Library Foyer.

Greenwood City Center Open House
4:30-6:30 p.m.
Come and see Greenwood’s City Center and enjoy music performed by the Greenwood High School Jazz Band. Also admire the OTGA Coloring Contest winners and indulge in a small treat of hot chocolate and cookies provided by the Greenwood Kiwanis Club.
