“I nominated my mom because she is the strongest person I know. She deals with a heart condition that could kill her at any point. Other diseases also make her life difficult. She has the strength to deal with two kids with type 1 diabetes, too. She makes time for all us, no matter how busy she is. She takes us shopping and to the movies, and has spa days with us. She works over 40 hours a week and does all the shopping and cleaning. She’s very supportive in everything we do. She deserves Mom of the Year because she has the strength to deal with all the bumps in her life with grace, courage and immense hope.”

“I believe my mom should be Mom of the Year because she is doing all she can to be the best she can be. She goes to school and takes care of three kids on her own. In addition, she is runs a boot camp teaching kettlebells at the high school. My mom was not always slim and fit. But she decided to change her life, lost a lot of weight and recently earned her Russian Kettlebell Certification. That inspired me to get mine as well. Those are just a few reasons that I believe my mom should be best mom of the year.”

“This year, I nominate Joyce Genneken. Joyce has two children, AJ and Tyler. AJ is here with her on earth, while Tyler resides in heaven after losing a well-fought battle with leukemia. Joyce fought right beside him, registering donors to join Be the Match, the national bone marrow registry. While a match wasn’t found for Tyler, 17 matches were found for other families. She and her husband started the Tyler Genneken Foundation to raise awareness and funds for Be the Match. The most amazing thing about her is her giving heart. She does it all anonymously. For all she does, for all she is, there is no one more deserving in my eyes.”

“I lost my first wife to cancer in 2004. She made me promise to find the boys a wonderful mom. I realized how hard it would to ask someone to welcome three boys into her life (three because I am a kid at heart). I began to notice this woman at work; she was smart, attractive and most importantly had a strong relationship with God. We got married in 2008. We welcomed Ava into our family in 2011. Lisa willingly and cheerfully took on all of the work, the laundry, the loss of sleep and some freedom. This nomination is a public affirmation of how blessed and appreciative we are that she said yes.”

“She goes out of her way for her friends and family and her kids’ friends just to make them happy. She’s like my second mom. She really deserves this award! All of our friends call her Mama Glogoza! She’s loving and anyone can tell her anything! She gives us rides everywhere and throws surprise birthday parties for some of our friends. Even after back surgery she threw a surprise party and made sure everyone had what they needed. She’s sweet and caring, which is why I’m nominating her for the Center Grove Mom Award, and did I mention she’s beautiful, smart, hilarious and such an expert with makeup? I hope you vote for her!”
