A number of readers have been having problems with the April word search puzzle. Since the puzzles are hand-created, when the first people contacted us, the assumption was that there was simply an error in the puzzle. But, as more calls and emails came in, we took a closer look. In fact, my wife was rather disturbed by the reported problems. After all, her mother is the puzzle creator and she was defending her mother! So, to resolve the issue I brought her a copy of the puzzle as it was posted on the website, and she solved it and found it without error!
A little more digging uncovered the root of the problem. An error was introduced between the time the puzzle was submitted for publication and the magazine was printed. That’s right, the puzzle in the Center Grove Community Newsletter is missing a row! No wonder people are having problems.
