St. John Vianney Catholic Church celebrates their 10 year anniversary
Just off of the Hamilton Town Center roundabout on Southeastern Parkway lies a small, but vibrant Catholic parish by the name of St. John Vianney. St. John Vianney started with little, in-home Masses, but quickly grew into the 370 family parish it is today. Fast forward a decade and three different locations later, the church is still thriving and becoming more vast than ever before.
“We are very excited, proud and most of all grateful for our 10 year anniversary.” parishioner Tiffany Chester said. To celebrate their anniversary, the Church is hosting many events that are not only for church members, but for the public as well. On July 15, they hosted a summer concert, chaired by Chester, with fireworks and food trucks, and on August 7 they will celebrate their Feast Day. Feast Day is open to the public, and consists of a Pitch-In Picnic, a 50/50 raffle, kid’s games and many more family friendly activities.
To coincide with the anniversary, the Church is planning big things for the future. One of the major projects St. John Vianney will be undertaking is expanding the Church into something greater.
“Our next building that we build will be a parish life center, which will be used for a Church, offices, meeting space and possibly a school.” Business Manager Larry Kunkel explained. “So in that, it will give us flexibility to have about 50% more 
worship space, and potentially allow us to have a Kindergarten-8th grade interim school.” He stressed that these plans will not be the final ones, that it’s just the beginning, and that the Church has even bigger dreams for the future.
St. John Vianney’s priest, is Father Brian Dudzinski. The first and so far only Pastor to the church, he is very humble about how far the church has come under his guiding hand.
“It’s good to see the growth of the church, though obviously we’d like to see it grow more. We’ve been pretty blessed to have the opportunities we’ve had to expand to different locations.” Father Dudzinski said. “People always tell me I should be proud of myself for all that I’ve done, but until it’s actually built and really done, I don’t think I’ll see it as an accomplishment.”
