On July 1, Conner Prairie introduced their newest and most exciting exhibit yet: Outpost Treetop. This permanent exhibit features a four-story treehouse with a suspension bridge and walkways around it, as well as activities around the premises such as music making and digging in an archeology site. Surrounding the massive structure are also several hiking trails through the forest, which allow families, specifically the children, to adventure the world around them and appreciate the beautiful nature that Indiana has to offer.

The treehouse itself towers over its guests at a whopping 45 ft. tall and offers 6,000 sq. ft. of fun and exploration. Vice President and Chief Operations Officer Cathy Ferree said that one of the main purposes of the Outpost Treetop was to shape kids into 3lifelong learners. The activities surrounding the treehouse allow kids to learn about Indiana’s past without even realizing it, and Conner Prairie hopes that in this learning, kids will ask their parents questions and ultimately learn even more. Another purpose of this exhibit is to get kids engaged in nature and in the outdoors, something that some kids lack today.

Outpost Treetop is now open to the public and ready to give your family a great day full of exploration and learning, so come over to Conner Prairie and give it a go!
