Food and wine tasting raises thousands for Special Olympics Hamilton County

A food and wine tasting event held to raise funds for Special Olympics Hamilton County brought in almost $4,000 for the organization, almost twice as much as the previous year’s event.

Season’s Gardens in Fishers hosted the evening event on Sunday, July 22. Several area restaurants donated time and food for the event. Wine was provided by United Package Liquors and from private donations. Additional money was raised through a silent auction.

“The food and wine tasting was a tremendous success for us this year,” said Heather Stephenson, County Coordinator for the program. “We would like to sincerely thank all of the people who attended the event and extend a special thanks to all the vendors who donated time an effort to help our organization.”

The funds will be used to support Special Olympics Hamilton County’s year-round programs for people with developmental disabilities, like swimming, bowling, basketball, and track and field.
