70-Acre Waterfront Park Coming to Geist
Perhaps the biggest news for Geist in 2017, Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness announced plans for a 70-acre waterfront park coming to the area. It will be the largest city park yet. The projects and initiatives center around 75 acres of land in the IMI quarry area just east of Olio Road on the south side of the Geist bridge. More, exciting updates are sure to come in 2018.

When you step into Murphys Craft House, located at 11650 Olio Rd., in the Kroger Shopping Center, it feels like walking into Cheers. This sense of belonging and family is the feel that brothers and owners Ryan and Craig Stonebraker want Murphys to manifest, and it is quickly becoming a Geist favorite.

FoxGardin Family Emphasizes Fresh Food, Family-friendly Atmosphere
FoxGardin Kitchen & Ale’s newest location, FoxGardin Family Kitchen, at 10410 Olio Road is a family-friendly restaurant with a wide variety of excellent lunch and dinner items for both adults and kids. The new kid-friendly restaurant opened earlier in 2017.

Geist 2017 Mom of the Year Finalists
The 2017 Geist Mom of the Year came down to a vote between two finalists: Nickole Patton and Jessica White. The votes poured in for both nominees in this year’s online voting contest.

Connect Fortville
The Connect Fortville plan is a proposed long-range thoroughfare plan that provides for the creation, expansion and improvement of the transportation network, including roads, as well as bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. The town of Fortville is expecting development of neighborhoods, restaurants, shopping centers, schools and more.

Wooden Bear Brewing is one of the newest restaurants in Geist brining craft beer and delicious pizza. Co-owner, Kurt Sundling, believes in keeping things simple. So far, it’s been a great recipe for success.

Bella Vita Changing to the Lake House at Geist
Bella Vita Lakeside kicked off the new year in 2017 by closing on January 1 for renovations and reopening in February. The restaurant rebranded, changing its name to the Lake House at Geist.
