Burglars Caught in the Bristols

The Fishers Police Department arrested two men early this morning after an alert resident in the Bristols sub-division (126th and Brooks School Road) called police.  Officers were called to the 12100 block of Raiders Boulevard at approximately 1:30 am in reference to two men possibly breaking into vehicles.

Officers located the men standing next to a car parked in a driveway on Raiders Boulevard.  The men admitted to police that they were looking for gas for their vehicle.  Officers located a blue Mercury Cougar parked on Raiders Boulevard.  The car was occupied by an adult female and owned by one of the suspects.

“The residents in the Bristols sub-division are actively recruiting volunteers to organize a neighborhood watch program in the neighborhood,” said Sergeant Gerry Hepp.  “This is a perfect example of how important it is for neighbors to look out for each other and report suspicious activity immediately.  This alert resident interrupted a crime in progress and stopped others from being victims.”  Hepp added.

Officers located a gas can in the Mercury Cougar.  One of the suspects was carrying a screwdriver and a pocket knife.  Officers located a second vehicle on Raiders that the men had been inside.  Nothing was taken but several items were thrown on the ground around the outside of the car.  The female was released without criminal charges.
