Fall Creek and Delaware Townships Collecting Shoes

The Fall Creek and Delaware Townships are joining force to collect shoes for those in need.

The shoes will go to the group Changing Footprints, which collects shoes to be donated to individuals, organizations and agencies. The shoe collection drive creates a large portion of the 15,000 shes donated annually. These shoes help the homeless, disaster relief and underprivileged people from the local level all the way to internationally.

All kinds of shoes are accepted by the group, which has more than 60 categories for shoes to be sorted. Shoes that are rejected by agencies are donated to Goodwill, and shoes that cannot be worn have the soles removed. The rubber then goes into making materials for playgrounds.

Shoes can be dropped off at either the Fall Creek (11595 Brooks School Road) or Delaware (9090 East 131st St.) Township offices until Feb. 27.
