Pure Eatery Opens in Fishers

A new “purely” good café, Pure Eatery, is now open in Fishers at 8235 E. 116th St. It is the second location for the popular eatery which first opened in Fountain Square in 2010.

Owners Dave Andrus (also owner of Pearl Street Pizzeria) and Jason Jacobi found a spot in the heart of the growing downtown Fishers area in the strip mall between Wild Ginger and Chateau Thomas Winery.

Pure boasts fresh, honest food. But this little eatery is a whole lot more than just a lunchtime sandwich spot, which frankly, we were expecting.

Pure is also a brunch spot on weekends, and you can catch dinner and a cocktail during the week since they are open 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Monday through Friday. They serve a variety of craft beers, wine and an impressive list of specialty drinks.

The menu is diverse as well with everything from the gouda-stuffed jalapeño appetizer, vegan tacos, signature sandwiches, wraps, salads and build your own entrees of mac and cheese.

The favorite at our table was the rice bowl, which is a choice of chicken or shrimp, sautéed with fresh veggies and white rice (no brown rice offering at this time).

Pure strives to be local and green: they serve locally owned Amazing Potato Chips and Lick ice cream, the artwork on the walls is from local artists and biodegradable to-go ware is used for carryout orders.

Pure Eatery is located at 8235 E. 116th St. across from the Fishers post office.

They make their own soups every day and dressings such as the tomato basil vinaigrette and the herbed ranch.

Overall, the Pure atmosphere is artsy and casual with some background music and a choice of wood tables or comfortable booths. The bar area is somewhat separated from the restaurant with pieces of artwork hanging on heavy duty chains.

I stopped in on a Monday which is half price day for specialty drinks, and I noticed there are several drinks with a reference to their downtown roots such as the White River cocktail, the Duckpin and even the Fountain Square cocktail.

So I couldn’t help but think maybe Pure will come up with a drink making reference to its new home is Fishers — the Nickel Plate drink perhaps?

I know we will be back to check it out!
