A capacity crowd celebrated Roncalli High School football, family, supporters and spirit on Friday, September 2nd. On a gorgeous night for football, Roncalli supporters had a wonderful tailgate meal on the track before the game versus Bishop Chatard and were privy to special seating in the end zone to watch all the action.
Pregame, senior Luke Smock was awarded the $1,500 “Spirit of the Family Tradition” Scholarship by the Roncalli Alumni Association. Smock is a member of the football team and track team. His parents, Andy and Suzanne, are both members of Roncalli’s Class of 1982.
There was a special halftime performance by hundreds of former Roncalli Cheerleaders from the past 48 years. The night ended with a thrilling goal line stop as Roncalli defeated Bishop Chatard 21-14.
