Studies show that consumers feel better about companies and products that are connected to, and active in, the local communities where they are located. They like to know that business leaders are involved and making the area a better place. The chamber of commerce is a central point for this activity where businesses can be involved and work together.

In the Lawrence area, your chamber of commerce has been active in building a foundational bridge between community and commerce. We seek to build relationships and momentum for this fine area. In the midst of many conversations in 2014 about how we continue to support and grow the Lawrence business community we 1)developed a Junior Chamber with Lawrence Township Schools creating financial literacy programs for area youth, 2)evolved our logo to better connect with who we are today, 3)continued to grow membership and many other impactful activities to enhance Lawrence.

As the chamber continues to transform, 2015 is forecast to be another sensational year. Over the coming months you will see new events designed to solidify the bond of a growing community. The new events include combining efforts with BRAG (Binford Redevelopment and Growth) with quarterly ‘lunch and learns’, community enhancement days and much more. Together, the chamber, members and business leaders
will innovate and elevate our community in 2015.

The Greater Lawrence Chamber of Commerce serves as the voice of local businesses and organizations. Their mission is to cultivate the intersection of community and commerce. To learn more and for membership information, please contact the chamber at

Since Lawrence doesn't have any good way to get news out, I'm turning to you and Tom Britt. I am having a most unusual car show on July. It's called "Planes, trains and automobiles, 6.0" It's a benefit for the Sharing place a the old Craig middle school. If you would give me a call I can explain the whole thing to you as both of my fingers are getting tired. Thanks, George Callahan 443-9901
