Local Wins $5,000 Travel Voucher From Blood Donation

When Noblesville resident Megan Schnitz donated blood at Indiana Blood Center, she was not expecting to win thousands of dollars. So when she got a call a few days later telling her that she was randomly selected to win a travel voucher, she was shocked.
Indy Travel Leaders partnered with Indiana Blood Center for their biggest promotion ever, giving away one $5,000 travel voucher to a randomly selected donor.
“We do promotions pretty heavily in the summer because they are slower months since high schools and colleges are on break,” said Indiana Blood Center Donor Marketing Specialist Maria Keyler. “In order to get donors through the door, we do a lot of promotions. This is the biggest one that we have ever done.”
Schnitz, a registered nurse at IU Health, was awarded the voucher after donating only three times. “When I first got the call, I couldn’t believe it. I was actually in the lunch room with my co-workers, and when it finally registered, I was over the moon,” said Schnitz. “I am not sure what I am going to do with the voucher right now, but I have a lot of ideas in mind.”
