the frozen fountain

"No, it is in the frontyard at the end of the driveway in front of the porch. We have a pretty long driveway and neither the house nor the fountain is visible from the street. Come visit!"

Thanks for the comments on my photos JoEllen. Well, the first picture if you are looking at them in the album section was taken in 2003 on my honeymoon. It was taken while we were on a horseback ride in Waipeo Valley on the Big Island of Hawaii. This one was taken with a 35mm film camera. Then next one was taken while I was visiting my wife while she was doing a required rural rotation in Wheeler, Oregon for medical school about four years ago. I took a drive down the Oregon coast one day while she was working and took this photo of a light house. I took several lighthouse photos and can't remember which one this was. The picture of the sea otter was taken when my wife and I visited a zoo in Oregon. The next picture is of an old shipwreck on the Oregon coast. My wife was with me when I took this one. The next one is a sunset on the Oregon coast. I have another sunset picture with a silhouette of my wife and I walking hand in hand on the Oregon coast but I couldn't find it on my computer. I will have to go through my CD's and see if I can find it. These pictures were taken with either a Canon S1IS or my Nikon 35mm film camera. I can't remember because I took pictures with both on that trip and they all were later converted to digital. The next one was taken in Alaska but I can't remember exactly where. We rented an RV in Achorage and drove to Valdez, Dawson, YT, Fairbanks, Barrow (plane), Denali, Seward, Homer and Katmai National Park (plane) so some of these I can't remember off hand where they were. If I remember correctly though the flowers in the forefront are called Fireweeds because they are the first thing to grow back after a fire. The next two were taken near Chicken, AK. This is on the Top of the World Highway which is mostly gravel/dirt. This was taken the next day after my father-in-law "challenged" me by saying there was absolutely no way we were going to make it back across the border before it closed. We were in Dawson, YT and it was going to cost us about a day if we didn't make it back. My wife and I said we could and from there the race was on. The road back was very narrow, washboard and rutted up due to unusually high amounts of rainfall. And of course there were lots of steep dropoffs with no guardrails. Being the race car driver that I am I was able to make it back before the border closed by about 10 minutes. I had a blast but I have a feeling that might not have been my in-laws favorite part of the trip :) The next photo is of a fisherman on the Homer Spit where we were camping in Homer, Alaska. The pictures of the bears were taken in Katmai National Park. We took a bush plane there through Bald Mountain Air. We were about 30 feet from this bear as it was hunting salmon in a creek. It was incredible. I could go on and on about our Alaska trip. It is a definite must see destination. I have lots more photos of Alaska, these were just some of my favorites.
