Augmented Reality = Wave of the Future.

I was reading an article the other day about Augmented Reality. I found it very interesting and thought I’d quickly blog about it.

When it comes to augmented reality, the Yelp application for the iPhone is only just the beginning folks. What is augmented reality you ask? Well, imagine you’re in a new neighborhood and are looking for the best restaurant in the area. You can aim your iPhone at each restaurant and a description will pop up on your screen telling you info about the restaurant. It can do the same for beauty spas, nightlife, stores etc. Some researchers have even come up with ways of recognizing people’s faces and showing what social networking sites the person is linked to.

There’s no doubt in my mind that augmented reality will be huge. Some say it could even be as big as the web.

What are your thoughts on this?
