Dodge Dakota Crew Cab a Big Hit with Families

The invention of the crew cab for pickup trucks was ingenious when you really think about it. It took a vehicle that could pretty much only be used on farms and at construction sites and turned it into a viable
family vehicle. All they had to do was stretch out the cab a little bit,
add an extra door or two, and squeeze in a row of seats for the “back
seat” of the automobile. Thanks to this ingenuity, we can’t even imagine
living in a world without pickups that have elongated cabs. For the
younger generation, that sort of truck has just always sort of been
there.

And now, in 2010, every Dodge dealer in Portage is finding themselves able to look forward to selling the Dakota Crew Cab TRX4 4X4 with the knowledge that the general public (including those
with families) will potentially be happy with the purchase of this
vehicle. It’s got a whole lot of good things going for it, and that’s
what I’d like to go over right now.

Let’s start with the family friendly aspects of the truck, since that’s the reason a lot of drivers would buy a pickup with a crew crab anyway. It offers four-wheel antilock breaks (a huge plus if you’re
driving a vehicle this big) and a supplemental safety package that
includes extra front and rear side curtain air bags to make sure
everyone in the truck is safe.

On the workhorse side of the vehicle, it maintains a nice, long bed despite the bigger cab, which is perfect for those days out on the farm or on-site. It runs a 4.7-liter V8 engine that can push upwards of 302
horsepower. It’s not particularly fuel-efficient, but few pickup trucks
this size are, especially those that run on four-wheel drive. There is a
two-wheel drive version available with slightly better mileage, but
it’s that 4X4 capability that makes the truck so versatile.

In Portage, 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee owners might have to start thinking about switching over to a Dodge Dakota because even though there’s plenty of space in a Jeep, there’s no
room for towing and hauling. The Dakota with the crew cab solves that
problem pretty easily.
