Educator Grants and Student Laptop Scholarships Available from Bright House Networks

Bright House Networks announced today the call for local entries for its 2012 Bright Futures Campaign. The campaign is a two-part educational initiative in Central Indiana that recognizes Educators and High School Seniors who teach and attend schools in the Bright House Networks service area. The Student Laptop Scholarship Program recognizes high school seniors planning to attend college with a new laptop, related software, and carrying case for their leadership skills, academic achievements and community service activities. The Educator Grant Program is available to area educators in K-12 programs who demonstrate creative learning experiences utilizing advanced technology, web based instruction, and/or cable programming to enhance the quality of education in our communities.

“The Bright Futures program is designed to recognize young adults and educators in the Bright House Networks service area for their contributions to their schools and communities,” said Don Williams, vice president/general manager Bright House Networks. “We are excited to be able to continue offer the Bright Futures program in Central Indiana for the second year in a row.”

All 2012 applicants for the Bright Futures Student Laptop Scholarship must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a full-time senior attending a high school within a Bright House Networks Service area
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities in school activities or through work experiences
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to community service involvement
