HSEHS to host first district-wide art show March 27, 28

The HsEARTS Show, the first annual district-wide art exhibit, will be March 27 and 28 from 2-5 p.m. The show in HSE High School’s Cafeteria will feature over 500 student works representing every school in the district. In addition, HSEHS’s Visual and Performing Arts Department will showcase its students’ talents with a variety of performances and presentations in “A Celebration of the Arts” on Saturday.

“This opportunity gives our students a chance to share their talents with the community and enhance the need for the arts programs in our curriculum. It also shows how our corporation can encourage students to migrate from one building's program into the next as they mature throughout their artistic educational journey,” said art teacher Robert Gabbert. “We want to celebrate the glory that all fine arts bring to the school, the curriculum and the student.”

The show has no admission but donations at the door will help support HSE’s art departments. Plus, a portion of proceeds will go to Spreading Sunshine, an organization founded by Alex Pope, a student at SCI who donates art supplies to children in local hospitals. This is a community-wide event that celebrates the artistic talents of our students!
