Indiana Design Center Announces Professional Staff

Pedcor Companies announced that Andrea Kleymeyer, Linda Kirby and Tom Vriesman have joined the Indiana Design Center team. Andrea Kleymeyer was named the Marketing Director, Linda Kirby is serving a consultant role as National Brands Representative and Tom Vriesman is serving a consultant role as Director of Design Community Relations.

Andrea Kleymeyer’s role as Marketing Director is to lead and implement the design center’s marketing initiatives, manage the membership programs and design center events. A focus for the position is to drive traffic to the showroom businesses as well as design resource library. Prior to joining the Indiana Design Center, Andrea served as an account manager at Young & Laramore, an integrated advertising agency.

“We are thrilled to have Andrea join the Indiana Design Center team”, said Melissa Averitt, Vice President and Director of Marketing and Sales for Pedcor Companies. “Along with Andrea’s enthusiasm for the design industry, she brings with her experience working on national brands and marketing campaigns as well as utilizing social media as a business tool. Andrea will help the Indiana Design Center to serve the design community and add value to the Carmel Arts & Design District.”

Linda Kirby’s role as National Brands Representative is to build business partnerships between the Indiana Design Center and national design industry manufacturers and services that are a good fit for the design center showrooms or design resource library. Kirby was previously Creative Director for MASCO Design Solutions, a specialist in interactive merchandising and space planning that provided project management and consulting services.

“Linda’s experience leading the design and planning of retail centers with MASCO, makes her a valuable member of the Indiana Design Center team. As we plan for the official grand opening and develop partnerships with top design industry brands, we will benefit from Linda’s creative leadership and sound professional relationships,” said Averitt.

Tom Vriesman’s role as Director of Design Community Relations is to build relationships between the Indiana Design Center and design community and guide the design center’s commitment to elevating Indiana design. Tom will establish and initially chair the Indiana Design Center Advisory Board comprised of representatives from design industry organizations, design center tenants, academia, commercial and residential product manufacturers, interior designers, and the local community. As principal of his own interior design firm, Design Studio Vriesman, Tom’s work has been published in House Beautiful, House Trends, Indianapolis Monthly, and The Indianapolis Star and has received awards from the St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild Decorators’ Show House, and Indianapolis Monthly. Prior to starting his interior design business, Tom was a Creative Director for Showroom Design with Herman Miller and also served as VP of Business Development for Rowland Design.

“Tom has been an active member of the local, regional and national design communities and his experience will be a great asset to the design center. Through Tom’s leadership, Indiana Design Center will be able to better serve and elevate Indiana’s design community,” said Averitt.

Along with several other showroom tenant negotiations underway for 2010, the Indiana Design Center is currently leasing space for a 4,200 square foot design resource library, a central feature of the design center. The resource library will include product catalogs and samples not available in the showrooms as well as product showcase opportunities for manufacturers.
