Swimming: Fishers boys win, while Lady Tigers fall
The Fishers High School boys Swimming and Diving Tigers trounced Trinity High School of Louisville, Ky., winning by a score of 139-46. The Lady Tigers, however, lost to Kentucky state champion Sacred Heart Academy 105.75 on Saturday.
For the boys, the Tigers were led by senior Luke Ingram, who championed the 200 & 500 Freestyles and swam on two winning relays.
Freshman Jota Iwase won the 200 IM and the 100 Backstroke. Senior Jacob Reichert placed first in the 100 Breaststroke; sophomore Cole Vandevender won the Diving and junior Joe Moser won the 100 Fly. The Tigers swept the relays: 200 Medley was Iwase, Reichert, Moser and Joel Crull. The 200 Free Relay was Moser, Ingram, Drake Stallworth and Crull; and the winning 400 Free Relay consisted of Iwase, Crull, Stallworth and Ingram.
For the girls, Fishers won three events: Junior Maddie Folta was 1st in diving, Lauren Edelman won the 100 Breast, and the 200 Free Relay of Miya Wai, Lizzy Pfeifer, Edelman and Lauryn Parrish took the gold.
Lauryn Parrish was outstanding in the 200 and 500 Freestyles; senior Maggie Jahns in the 200 Free and the 100 Back; and freshman Morgan Booth had another solid 500.
