On Saturday, August 29, the Fishers Park Foundation and Southeastern Program of Recreational Team Sports (S.P.O.R.T.S.) will be hosting the first ever Sandlot Under the Stars. This one-of-a-kind fundraising event will benefit youth athletic programs.
The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a wine and cheese reception provided by Fresh Market along with a silent auction. A catered dinner will follow, along with a reverse raffle with the opportunity to win $5,000. Live entertainment and photographers will be present throughout the entire night.
“We thought that it would be great to think of something different that people haven’t attended before,” said S.P.O.R.T.S. Development Director Gretchen Jacobs. “We wanted to make it unusually unique, so they could come out, have an experience and then hopefully have a fantastic fundraiser that would benefit youth sports.”
Functioning as their largest fundraising event of the year, proceeds and donations will go towards worthy programs such as providing scholarships for families in need. Sandlot Under the Stars will give toward these programs while proving fun as well.
