“This is an exciting opportunity for these students to learn about the culture of the country and improve their language skills,” said Jill Hilgemeier, French teacher.

The selection process begins with a test of the student’s knowledge of the language in October.  In December they submit a written application which includes recommendations from teachers, friends and parents.  In March the finalists were interviewed in both the foreign language and English.

Students must be in at least the third year of foreign language study and plan on continuing to the next level of study after their participation in the program. This is the 21st consecutive summer that students from LN have been selected to study in France.
