YoursToCreateLogo.jpg.pagespeed.ce.zT-LjyW-GLLawrence could see the addition of another public library if the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library 5-year strategic plan is approved as written.  Other communities will see libraries moved or even eliminated, due to budget cuts and more digital use of the library’s resources.

The plan states, “Services, collections, facilities and technology require new approaches to traditional Library resources.” The plan details how the libraries will adjust to the different and ever-changing needs of their communities.  Specifically, the Lawrence branch is tagged as “Additional location to increase services and reduce gaps in service areas”.

There is a public meeting scheduled at the Lawrence branch, 7898 North Hague Road, on Feb. 12 from 6-8 p.m. Interested people are encouraged to attend.

For more dates of community meetings, visit the strategic plan website here.
