Local high schools team up with HTSN/RTV6 for new “Friday Football Frenzy – MIC Game of the Week”

In a broadcasting first for local high schools, the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference is teaming up with RTV6 and HTSN to present exclusive coverage of the “MIC Game of the Week” it was announced today by RTV6 and HTSN Vice President and General Manager, Larry Blackerby and representatives of the MIC. The Friday night football games will be televised live on HTSN and feature match-ups of some of the state’s biggest and best football programs. “We are excited to partner with the MIC (Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference) for our exclusive line-up of Friday night football games this season,” says Blackerby. “The conference has several state championships and terrific rivalries. Teaming up with the MIC offers great local high school sports programming for viewers across central Indiana to enjoy.”

The Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference is made up of the following high schools: Carmel, North Central, Pike, Warren Central, Lawrence North, Lawrence Central, Center Grove and Ben Davis.   “Teaming up with HTSN and RTV6 will offer the MIC an opportunity to showcase our terrific line-up of schools and our student athletes,” says Jim Inskeep, Director of Athletics at Carmel High School and representative of the MIC. “We’re proud of our schools. This new arrangement will give us a chance to share that pride with all Hoosiers.”

In addition to football airing Friday nights on HTSN, viewers will also be able to view live streaming of the games on the RTV6 apps and TheIndyChannel.com.  “Whether you are at the game, watching at home, or traveling, users on all our platforms will be able to enjoy “The Friday Football Frenzy – MIC Game of the Week,” says Blackerby.

“The Friday Football Frenzy- MIC Game of the Week” will kick off with a Pre-Game Preview Show each Friday at 6:30p from the host school location. The game will air live beginning at 7:00pm.  Encore airings of the MIC Game of the Week will air late Friday night, Saturday morning and through the weekend on HTSN.  HTSN can be seen over-the-air on channel 6.2, and is available on numerous cable systems in central and southern Indiana, including Comcast and Brighthouse.  For Comcast subscribers, HTSN is on channel 247 in some areas and channel 420 in others.  For Brighthouse subscribers, HTSN is on channel  410.  For information on how to find HTSN visit  http://www.theindychannel.com/sports/high-school/how-to-tune-into-htsn
