McKenzie Receives $100,000 Grant for Robotics Program

McKenzie Career Center has received a grant is in the amount of $100,000.00 for the implementation of the CIMS program at McKenzie Career Center for the 2008-2009 and beyond school years.  Students will learn the concepts of robotics and automated manufacturing by creating three-dimensional designs using modeling software.  These designs will then be produced and manufactured.  Students will program milling machines and robotic arms to work with conveyors and other manufacturing devices.  This grant was submitted by Frank Svarczkopf to the Indiana Department of Work Force Development Moving Forward Initiative and is effective February 1, 2008.  McKenzie Career Center will assemble interested community members to serve as Advisory Members to this course as it develops over the coming years.
