A little snow and ice couldn’t keep Lawrence Township dads and sons from bringing their game to the inaugural Dads & Lads Sports Spectacular to benefit the Lawrence Township School Foundation.

Over 200 participants turned out on February 22nd to try their hand at basketball and soccer competitions, as well as an obstacle course and bowling. The Sports of All Sorts venue offered plenty of room for other sports activities and exhibitions. Ribbons were awarded to event winners and trophies! were presented to grade-level champions.
The volunteer committee was thrilled with the outcome of the first-time event. Thanks to lead sponsor Guardian Relocation, Inc. and many other donors, $5,000 was raised to benefit Lawrence Township students! Jeff Yu, event chair, stated “This fun event provided an opportunity for fathers and sons to enjoy sports together, and also introduced many new dads to the Lawrence Township School Foundation.”The Foundation has given back over $2 million to Lawrence Township schools since its inception in 1983. The Foundation strives to meet the needs of schools that aren’t covered by tax dollars. Foundation programs include the My Community Gets Healthy initiative, tutoring centers in both high schools and teacher grants for innovative programs.
