Redefining Beauty with Eva Maison

Recently moving back to Indianapolis from Aruba, Josh Posner, owner of Eva Maison was inspired by his lifelong love of organic and natural beauty products to open Eva Maison. Eva Maison is a boutique beauty store that carries all natural and organic beauty products that can be described as “Sephora meets Wholefoods.”

Although born in the U.S., Posner grew up in Aruba, and after graduating from college, he joined the family business, Aruba Aloe, which had a distribution center in Indiana.

“I started working for Aruba Aloe in 2006 where I did every job imaginable,” shares Posner. “Our distribution center used to be in Indianapolis, and that is what originally brought me here.”

In 2009, Posner moved back to Aruba to help run and manage Aruba Aloe. Aruba Aloe was founded in 1890 and is the oldest aloe company in the world. During his tenure, Posner helped Aruba Aloe grow from four stores to 16 stores in less than two years.

“What is unique about Aruba Aloe is that we grow all of our own aloe,” says Posner. “You can visit the factory where you will see the original aloe fields that we have been using for the last 125 years. The aloe is hand-cut in the morning, and by the afternoon, it’s being put into the products.”

In late 2014, Posner and his wife decided to move back to Indiana. The two of them met on a cycling trip in southern Indiana and missed being in the Midwest. “Our hearts are here in Indiana, so after living in Aruba for a couple of years, it was time to move back,” says Posner.

In April 2015, they opened Eva Maison where the passion driving the store is Posner’s obsession with natural products. “I want to change how people think about shopping for beauty products by bringing together the best natural and organic brands that we can find,” says Posner. “Broad Ripple is the best place to open our first store.”

“Most people are not aware of the potentially harmful chemicals that are found in most beauty products,” says Posner. “We wish to facilitate a change of attitude about products, increase awareness and help educate consumers to make healthier choices.”

“We wish to educate customers, so that they make informed and knowledgeable decisions about beauty products,” says Posner. Around the store, there is information illustrating the positive benefits and nourishing properties of their products.

In addition to the products, the furniture and decor is thoughtfully selected. And gratefully, it too is for sale.

Eva Maison also offers gift cards, books, candles, cosmetic bags, totes and various accessories! It’s a must-see the next time you are in Broad Ripple.
