The staff at rubbr tire dealer and repair shop, a mobile tire installation business at 5343 Winthrop Avenue, Indianapolis, highly stress convenience and want their customers to know they will work around their hectic schedules.

Katie Lord, Brand Manager for rubbr, says the business opened its doors on July 5, 2017, after careful planning.

“Everything is about convenience these days (e.g. Uber Eats, Prime Now, Peapod, etc.), so why should  automotive tires have to be any different? “ Lord says. “We aren’t the first ones to come up with the idea of a mobile tire installation company, but the way we are doing it is unique. We set out to disrupt the tire industry, and I feel like we’re certainly on our way to achieving that goal.”

Lord says that mobile tire installation is a fairly new enterprise. The staff finds out what their customers drive and recommend the perfect tires to match their cars.

“There are several things that set rubbr apart from other tire shops,” Lord says. “The one that comes to mind first is our convenience factor. Unlike brick and mortar tire shops, we come to you. Your ‘waiting room’ could be your living room or office.”

Lord says this has proved to be helpful for all of their customers.

“It doesn’t matter whether they work 70 hours a week and just don’t want to sit at a tire store during their precious time off,” Lord says. “It could be a parent who doesn’t want to entertain their kids at a tire shop for a couple hours, or a contractor who doesn’t want any downtime for his work vehicle, so they can better serve their own customers. Our vans are equipped to mount and balance tires anywhere. Some of the other great attributes of rubbr are our competitive pricing and our user-friendly website.”

Rubbr has received great reviews from both individuals and businesses.

“We have been praised for the ease and convenience of using rubbr for their tire needs and our exceptional customer service,” Lord says. “Some people know they need tires and choose to replace them all at once, while some have a flat tire while they are at work and need a single tire replaced in a pinch. In either situation, we are glad that we can be so helpful for people in our community.”

Rubbr also offers free tire rotations and balancing for those who purchase tires from them. Tire prices vary depending on the vehicle. If customers enter their vehicle information on rubbr’s website, employees show people several choices that are a good fit.

“We will also offer promo codes to use on our website for discounts,” Lord says. “We blast the codes on our Facebook (@rubbrdotcom) and Instagram (rubbrlovr) pages as well as Twitter (@rubbrlovr). We also host pop-up events around Indy, offering free tire safety checks for those who stop by. Keep an eye out on our social media for future events and deals.”

Lord says that the Broad Ripple community and several Indianapolis neighborhoods have been very supportive.

“I love the feeling of community in Broad Ripple,” Lord says. “When we  first opened our doors, we walked around to our neighbors to introduce ourselves, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. It’s great to be a part of such a wonderful community.”

Lord and here staff have been heavily promoting their website,  rubbr.com, where customers can choose from a wide range of tires, and schedule their appointment for when and where they want their tires installed.

Lord has eight years of experience in the tire and automotive industry.

“I’ve worked at and managed a ‘big box’  tire store, and worked in a dealership’s service department, and neither compare to Rubbr,” Lord says. “The Rubbr team as a whole has 30 years of experience in the tire and automotive industry. I feel like we’re doing some great things for our customers, and helping to disprove the often-negative reputation that comes along with tire shops.”
