Chick-Fil-A draws crowd on Appreciation Day

The Chick-Fil-A in front of the Greenwood Meijer store has been drawing crowds all day. This morning the cars were parking lot was nearly filled and there was a constant stream of cars in the drive-thru lane. The cause for the surge in business is “Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day,” a concept promoted by former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.

Interest in Chick-Fil-A picked up a few weeks ago when the owner expressed his personal belief that marriage was between a man and a woman. It picked up steam as mayors across the county suggested that the chicken sandwich chain is not welcome in their cities. It is now a nation story. Here is what Fox News is reporting. [Link]

  1. Sometimes says:

A business is allowed to lobby for what they like. There are many people who will protect the freedoms of private companies to challenge any movement they choose. If it was a bad choice business will suffer possibly. If corporations are people, so they say, then it's good for the corporation to have stances and practices inline with their belief. Even if they wanted to discriminate pro-actively by only serving and hiring white-straight-non-females they should be allowed too. But from a business point discrimination on that level would be dumb, but if that's how they wanted to define their-self I believe it's their right.
