Franklin Window & Door Receives National Award
In 1915, 112 W. Jefferson St. in downtown Franklin was an automobile dealership; many businesses occupied the building in the years after until it fell into complete disrepair. In 2012, Franklin resident Cori Brown wanted to start a business. She did and not only succeeded in bringing life to a new business but also brought new life to a historic building.
It took Cori and her husband Scott, owner of the Brown Remodeling Company, a year to bring the building back to life.
Reconstruction included raising the southwest corner of the building four inches. The original pressed metal ceiling was uncovered, wooden beams from a local 1800s era barn were used on the interior and the entire front facade was re-bricked.
The building is a highlight of the city’s downtown revitalization efforts. Franklin Window and Door is a warm, welcoming and elegant space. The showroom received national recognition in this month’s issue of Window & Door magazine, the authority on the most innovative and trending new construction and replacement window and door products on the market. The magazine named Franklin Window & Door “Dealer of the Year” for the best showroom in the nation.
The business opened in March 2013 with two employees. The company has more than doubled their sales in 2014. To accommodate the growth, the company now has seven full-time employees. They offer products from Marvin, Hurd, Sun, Provia, Therma-Tru and Emtek Hardware. The boutique style showroom and personal design service caters to a market with the highest standards.
“What you get at Franklin Window and Door is a free consultation, design options, and the highest quality products to create the custom look you desire,” Brown said.
Homes 15 years or older are prone to have drafty doors and hazy windows. Investing into your home will drastically improve your curb appeal as well as your electric bill.
“You don’t have to replace all of your windows at once. You could start with a large front window then you will always be able to come back and get matching windows for the rest of your home,” adds Brown.
Other options include a new entry door, or spruce up your interior and exterior doors with new hardware. They offer a large selection of high quality Emtek Hardware that is far superior in quality to what you would find at a home improvement store.
The national award for their beautiful showroom is just the tip of the iceberg for them. Customers will find raving reviews from other customers on Angie’s list, Facebook and Houzz.com. They were voted runner up in the 2014 Indy A-List competition. Franklin Window & Door encourages you to stop by their showroom and experience the No. 1 window and door showroom in America.
