Heroes from the Heartland

IndyHonorFlightFeatureOn Sunday November 10th four local World War II veterans will be at the Indiana State Museum speaking of their experiences during the war. Come and listen to the incredible stories they share of their time in the service. You have read the books and seen the movies about these great men. This is your chance to come, meet them in person, and hear firsthand what is was like to be part of the greatest military force in history.

These men represent the start of the war (Pearl Harbor) and the end (Liberation by the Russians). They have experience with the D-Day invasions (in both theaters), Iwo Jima, the Battle of the Bulge.

The speaking schedule is as follows:

11:30 –  CPL McDowell, US Army Medic, stationed in England.

12:30 – SGT Davis, US Marine Corps, Purple Heart on Iwo Jima.

2:00 –    SM1C Kennedy, US Navy Pearl Harbor Survivor, D-Day Escort.

4:00 –    CPL Barker, US Army, Battle of the Bulge, POW for 6 months.
