Interested in Running for Office? Attend this Seminar
Have you ever wished we had a deeper pool of qualified candidates for political offices? Do you know people that would be great public leaders? Would you like to know more about how to get involved in the political arena?
The Greater Greenwood Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Leadership Johnson County’s exciting new workshop on November 19: “Engagement in Public Service.”
This one-day workshop (8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) will be moderated by Bonnie Pribush, Franklin College Professor Emeritus and Founder of Leadership Johnson County. Guest speakers will discuss:
- Opportunities for public service
- How to file for public office
- Creating a campaign plan
- Campaign finance and budgets
- Creating and media plan
- Public speaking
The Greenwood Chamber is offering two scholarships to attend this workshop. Interested persons should email Christian @ GreenwoodChamber.com. The Chamber’s Business Advocacy Council will select the recipients. Special consideration will be given to owners and employees of Chamber member companies. Party affiliation will not be requested, nor considered.
Consider attending if you’d like to learn about the election process. Just as importantly, share this exciting opportunity with others who can lead our communities. Especially encourage women, minorities, and young adults to attend.
