The new traffic patter at Center Grove High School created some traffic backups on the first day of classes. Parents report what was a ten minute process last year stretched to 20 to 25 minutes this year. Cars were still lined up at 7:30 waiting to get to the new drop off location at the Hall of Excellence. The school district added some new roads, repaved others and added additional parking at the front of the school along Morgantown Road over the summer. Traffic was backed up west bound on Stones Crossing waiting to turn south on Morgantown.
The bottleneck appeared at two locations, the first as vehicles tried to turn into the street to the south of the Township Trustee’s office. North bound and south bound vehicles could have used a little assistance from a traffic officer. School staff was out trying to keep things moving but the line was solid all the way to the dro poff point. A few tweaks and parents getting used to the new system should speed up the process over the next few days.
