Second Saturday Packing Helps Local Hungry

Kids_Against_Hunger_185Kids Against Hunger, a non-profit based in Greenwood, IN is hosting meal-packing events at their facility in order to help feed local people. According to Feeding America, Johnson County has 16,140 food insecure people, 6450 of which are children. This means that these children do not know where their next meal will come from.

Kids Against Hunger has a highly nutritious and inexpensive solution to this epidemic of hunger. Volunteers raise money and gather at the Kids Against Hunger facility to pack the meals. The meals are then sent to local food pantries for distribution.

Fifteen people + $750 + two hours can produce over 3,000 meals!

Summer time is especially bad for these kids and families, because while school is out they don’t breakfast or lunch regularly.

June 8 and July 13 from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Kids Against Hunger is open for groups to sign up to pack meals. Follow this link to learn how you can close the meal gap in Johnson County this summer: http://www.kah-greenwood.org/how-to-help/join-a-packing-event

These events make for great corporate team building events, birthday parties, or other group gatherings. Contact Ron Pierce: ron@kah-greenwood.org 317-885-3300 for more information.
