Alli Chance | Center Grove Middle School North
6th grade special education teacher / CGMSN girls’ track coach

“I am excited to start the new balanced calendar. I think having a shorter summer break will help students retain more information from the previous school year, in turn requiring less re-teaching at the start of the year.”

Cathie Geiger | Maple Grove Elementary / Center Grove High School
Speech & language pathologist

“Having two-week breaks at the end of each grading period in October, December, and March will enable students and teachers to re-energize and re-focus. It will improve student/teacher attitude, achievement, and attendance.”

Eric Moore | Center Grove High School
Health & PE teacher; CGHS head football/track coach

“I’m like anybody else, change is always exciting but difficult. For athletics, it’s going to be tricky in scheduling because of practices during the two-week breaks. For football, we’re going to miss the two-a-day practices. Academically it may help the kids.”

Gary Robinson | Center Grove Middle School Central
7th grade social studies teacher; CGMSC 7th grade volleyball coach /assistant girls’ CGHS tennis coach

“I’m looking forward to it because each nine weeks will be its own unit. Students will like it, and it will make education better.”
