Doug Money from Ace HardwareAn anchor tenant has finally opened on the southeast corner of 116th and Olio Road, just in time for summertime home improvement projects.

Fishers Ace Hardware opened it’s doors in June with a grand opening event featuring an old-fashioned barbeque, giveaways, and local merchant gift certificates.

“What a great community,” commented Doug Money, a Zionsville resident and owner of the area’s newest hardware store.

“We looked at various hardware store chains like Do-It Center and True Value, but Ace offered the best program for my wife (Melissa) and I to participate in,” added Money.

Fishers Ace Hardware offers items you normally wouldn’t find in a local hardware store.

“Melissa has spent a lot of time developing out our gift and card area. We offer all kinds of greeting cards, bows and upscale appliances for any gift occasion,” Money said.

Other unique products and services include boat keys and marine items, outdoor plants, several barbeque grills, bird feeders, and two lines of house paint. Customizing the Ace Store franchise to the Geist area should not be difficult for the Moneys, having spent years owning convenience stores around central Indiana.

“We learned to listen to the customers; if they are asking for something, we should probably find out a way to carry it.”
