Have you visited the gorgeous lush green play space in the middle of Fishers off of Holland Drive? You know the one.

The great “circle park” as my kiddos refer to it.

Nestled in the middle of the Sunblest neighborhood, it is the location of famous annual Fishers Freedom Festival. Officially, it goes by Roy G. Holland Memorial Park, but to us, it will always be the circle park.

My kids fell in love years ago as they played games of imagination on the bridges and slides of the old play structure. Games like spaceship and pirates. They also would dart in and out of the tree “forest” and hop and skip along the paved paths. Maybe pet a dog or two along the way for good measure.

It’s such a relaxing family park with something for everyone, from soccer, baseball and basketball to walking paths and now amazing play adventures on an innovative new play structure in the middle of the park.20150426_121424

Last year Fishers Parks and Recreation did a huge overhaul on the park that included a new play structure, new picnic area and improvements to landscaping. We had our first visit to the newly improved area this past weekend and fell in love all over again!

For a mama that has a kiddo with a sensory processing disorder this park is heaven! Thank-you Fishers Parks and Recreation for taking into account the play needs of kids of all ages and abilities. We love you for it!

Another great feature of the remodeled play space is that you can more easily keep watch over all kiddos playing. I had found that with the previous structure my husband and I would often have to go different directions in order to keep up with the kids and always have them in our line of sight. This new structure is more compact and much easier to see everything all at once.

We definitely see lots of playdates, picnics and afternoons of fun at Roy G. Holland Memorial Park for 2015 and beyond. There is so much to enjoy in this beautiful Fishers park. It’s the perfect place to play, take a family walk or meet friends for a picnic and pick up game of soccer. Plus it’s close enough to the Nickel Plate District Ampitheater area that you could stroller over after enjoying the Saturday morning Farmer’s Market visit or before heading to a Friday night movie in the park. Truly love it’s central location to downtown Fishers events, eateries and shopping.

Fishers 100% lives up to its Playful City USA status! Lots of beautiful places to run, giggle and play! Get out and enjoy, peeps.
