Golfers Wanted for Second Annual YSC/HamCo MIBOR Golf Outing

Golf enthusiasts will find no shortage of excuses to justify participation in this fantastic, fun-filled event organized by the Young Survival Coalition (YSC) and the Hamilton County MIBOR (Metropolitan Indianapolis Board Of Realtors).

It offers golfers an opportunity to spend an entire day engaged in their favorite leisure activity while being treated to lunch, dinner, drinks and other goodies provided by the event’s sponsors and volunteers. It all takes place in Noblesville at Purgatory Golf Club, the state’s top-rated golf course, and benefits the wives, sisters, daughters and friends in our community who are battling breast cancer.

Stacy Cage, a promotional advisor for JP Frog Promotions, is one of the committee volunteers who is excited to be involved with the event again this year.

“The energetic volunteers and sponsors kept the atmosphere on the course lively; everyone had such a wonderful time,” she said. “The success of last year’s outing can be measured not only by the fact that participants were enthusiastic about it becoming an annual event but also by the fact that it has dramatically increased the profile of the Young Survival Coalition.”

Young Survival Coalition offers hope, assistance and sisterhood in the midst of crisis. Along with providing support to survivors, YSC also seeks to educate the medical, legislative, research and breast cancer communities of the importance in addressing the issues encountered by women under 40.

As reported by Amy Wolfe, an officer of YSC, last year’s golf outing raised over $12,000 to support the coalition’s worthy mission. Because of increased volunteers and publicity this year, they expect to top last year’s figures.

Being a five-year breast cancer survivor herself, Amy fully understands the importance of gathering the funds necessary to sustain the coalition’s efforts.

“Many of the women must face the challenges of undergoing treatment while raising a family or going through a pregnancym” she said. “YSC works to meet the needs of these women by offering information and hope, especially to those who are newly-diagnosed.”

According to Cage, sponsorships are still available, and space at the event is limited to 144 golfers; so she recommends registering as early as possible. However, additional capacity is available for the dinner and silent auction that follows.
