Whether looking to maximize your family’s summer fun or plan a staycation experience that will be the envy of all your friends, Fishers Indiana is ripe with summer family fun options. Check out our top 25 must-dos for summer fun!

Billericay Park

Towne Mama kiddos splashing it up at Fishers Billericay Park.

Farmers Market – No summer is complete without a bit of local fresh! There is tons of fun, plus good eats to be found at the Fishers Farmers Market, located near Fishers City Hall. It takes place each Saturday morning, May – September, from 8a.m. until Noon. Make sure to get a Mathoo’s Egg Roll. You’ll thank us later.

Concerts in the Park – There are so many things to love about the summer concert series at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater! One of our favorites is the Tuesday night family-friendly concerts. Pack a picnic, a big blanket to spread out and enjoy the sweet tunes all evening long.

Handel’s Ice Cream – Yes, there may be lines, but it is so worth the wait. Summer isn’t complete without a creamy sweet ice cream treat from Handel’s on 116th! A perfect end to any family night out. Grab a cone and head over to the pocket park nearby to create a chalk masterpiece!

Freedom Festival Parade – We adore this festive parade each year and love that it is on the last weekend of June instead of in July. It kicks off two weeks of 4th of July fun for our family. Will we see you there on July 28th? There is both a children’s parade and main parade.

Freedom Festival – This year’s Fishers Freedom Festival is June 27th-28th. It features a 5K, family walk and kiddie run, vendor booths, children’s activities, live entertainment, food, wine/beer garden, a bake-off, tethered hot air balloon rides, viral photo booth, parades and fireworks. Our favorite part – there are lots of free activities!

Conner Prairie – Who knew summer could be fun and educational?! There new tagline says it all – Acres and Acres of Interactive Awesomeness! Over the course of the summer enjoy activities like Civil War Days, Summer Camps and a Curiosity Fair.

Symphony on the Prairie – An Indiana tradition and an amazing outdoor summer experience. No summer is complete without a visit to Conner Prairie’s Symphony on the Prairie. Check out this year’s line up.

Saxony Beach – Yep, there is a beach in Fishers! And get this – it’s FREE and open to the public. 300 feet of sandy beach fun in the middle of Indiana. The beach opens Memorial Day weekend.

Movies in the Park – Enjoy a movie under the stars at either the Nickel Plate Amphitheater or in Saxony’s Witten Park. Monsters University is coming up Saturday May 23rd at Dusk in Witten Park.

Splash Pads – Open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, the Splash Pad at Billericay Park in Fishers is the perfect place to cool off. We love that Fishers has this awesome FREE water play feature available each summer for families.

Uncle Bills – Let’s face it – summer can get toasty. When the heat is making you wish for snow, why not enjoy a little AC and cute animals instead. Our kiddos love a summer evening of Monical’s Pizza and then an evening adventure at Uncle Bill’s Fishers.

Jack’s Donuts – Aim high. Don’t just settle for ordinary fun summer, make it delicious too. Roll out of bed late, round up the crew and head over to Jack’s Donuts in Fishers for a tasty leisure summer breakfast!

Fishers Library – Hamilton East Public Library’s Summer Reading Program begins June 1st. This year’s theme is Every Hero Has a Story. Nothing is better than getting lost in a book over the summer. Let your imagination run wild and win prizes through the library to boot!

Mud Day – Where getting dirty is encouraged! During this FREE July 11th event enjoy playing in a giant mud pit at Cyntheanne Park and jamming to summer’s top hits. Kona Ice will also be on-hand for with shaved ice treats for sale. Event includes a smaller section for little ones.

Klipsch Music Center – Okay so it’s a little outside of Fishers, but there are some amazing outdoor concerts slated for this summer.

Roy G. Holland Memorial Park – A perfect park to let the kiddos run free and play until their little heart is content. A great covered picnic area and walking paths too. Perfect for a summer play date.

Touch-A-Truck – A great local FREE event where kiddos have the chance to see and touch all sorts of town trucks, including a street sweeper, fire engine, police car and dump trucks. For more touch-a-truck events city wide visit Indy with Kids.

Ice Skating – Another cool option for those dog days of summer. Enjoy public skate times or take lessons over the summer.

Outside Dining Along 116th Street – There are so many outside dining options up and down 116th Street in the heart of downtown Fishers. Enjoy the sights, sounds and local eats of Fishers.

Pick Strawberries – Okay, yes, I’ve snuck in one more just barely outside Fishers option, but it’s awesome, so I can’t help it. Childhood memories are made at U-Pick at Spencer’s Berry Farm.

Skyzone – Another great indoor option for killer hot days or rainy days during summer. Just jump it out at Skyzone in Fishers.

Bowling – Did you know kids can bowl FREE all summer long? Yep. Pinheads Entertainment Center in Fishers is a participating center for the Kids Bowl Free program! Make sure to register your kiddo.

Indoor Go Karts – Love speed? Did you know Fishers has indoor go-kart racing? Just the thrill for your summer experience!

Balloon Ride – Midwest Balloon Rides is based right in Fishers Indiana. You may even run into them at a summer event. Or you can book your every own private family balloon ride for 5.

Ritchey Woods – Fishers Parks and Recreation is amazing! Our family loves all the creative programs at Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve throughout the seasons. One of favorites is the celebration of National S’mores Day in August each year.
