Fall Creek Intermediate Wins Track Meet with Riverside, Sand Creek

On May 16, fifth and sixth grade Falcons of Fall Creek Intermediate took on their sister schools, Sand Creek Intermediate and Riverside, at the annual track meet on the Fishers High School track. In the most competitive meet in the five-year history of the event, Fall Creek was victorious by a score of 144-138-22, with Sand Creek taking second place, said teacher Jill Fabiano.

A number of outstanding performances were turned in by Falcon runners, which included nine new sixth grade meet records. Daniel Nix set a new record in the boys 400-meter, while Kelsie Bolerjack set records in the 400- and 1600-meter races. Zach Reitzug and Katherine Goens were also multiple record holders. Both athletes set new records in the long jump and 100-meter race. Two relay teams also set records for the Falcons. The boys 4×100 team of Taylor McDougal, Kevin Yi, Zach Reitzug and Robby Stinson and the girls 4×400 team of Gabrielle Mazero, Roni Kinyatee, Kenzie Willman and Kelsie Bolerjack finished with record times.

Each year the schools compete for the traveling relay baton trophy. This year the prized trophy will return to Fall Creek with the Falcons. The FCI coaches –Jill Fabiano, Adam Jahn, Kris Michael, Doug Philpot, and John Bratton–commend FCI athletes for their hard work, dedication and sportsmanship.
