Jessica J. Williams, senior at Hamilton Southeastern High School, has been awarded the 2007 Grace Freshman Scholar Award by Purdue University. The Award is made possible by Dr. Richard and Connie Grace. Dr. Grace was the founding director of the Undergraduate Studies Program at Purdue.
Williams, who will enter Purdue as a freshman in the Undergraduate Studies Program beginning this fall, was selected from a pool of highly-qualified candidates to receive the Grace Award. The award recognizes the outstanding academic achievement, leadership and strong extra-curricular and community involvement of an incoming freshman, according to Dr. Susan Aufderheide, director of the Undergraduate Studies Program.
