Carroll Road Trail Design Announced

Section Sheet - (8)The Town of McCordsville released their preliminary plans for the multipurpose trail deemed the “Tri County Connector” on their website late last week (click here). Approximately 900 ft. in length and spanning two counties (Marion and Hancock), the asphalt trail will follow the curve of Carroll Road on the north half requiring a guardrail divider and then jog down into the common area land in front of the Treasure Pointe homeowners behind the treeline before it crosses the existing berm on the south end.

McCordsville engineers plan on having a public meeting with the residents soon to garner any last comments before the project is bid out. Construction could start as early as this year.

So glad this project is moving along!

Great news from McCordsville and Hancock County. The plan is overdue but thanks for "stepping up" for both safety and the exercise health of citizens. A quick look at the details shows the people path crossing over Carroll and linking with the east side path. This leaves a gap (75 yards?) for Indianapolis/ Maraion County to step up and design a "connector" for the walkers/ runners/ bikers who wish to go straight south to the 1st entrance to Admirals Bay and sidewalks. Otherwise they move out onto Carroill or the grass again. Thanks again for sharing this exciting plan — and hope it starts ASAP. Finally, if my first impression is not accurate – then please correct or edit my thinking. Thanks!
