Spectators for this year’s Geist fireworks will have more viewing options. Organizers announced today that the annual Fourth of July show will be moving from the island off of Admirals Sound to a barge just north of the Fall Creek Road bridge near the Geist Marina Village.
“The Fall Creek bridge will be closed from 7:30 to 10:30 pm for pedestrians to gather and watch the fireworks up close,” said Brian Hall of the Geist Lake Coalition, the non-profit group that hosts the annual tradition.
Fireworks will be on the evening of Saturday, July 4th starting around dusk. While most spectators choose to watch the show from their boats, many crowd lakefront homes around the Reservoir. This year will mark the first time the fireworks have been shot from the middle of the 6-mile long reservoir giving more people more options for viewing.
