Realtors? Yes. Different? ABSOLUTELY!
$250,000 returned to clients over the last 2 years. Yes, $250,000 over 2 years by a handful of agents is what the Indy Plus Realty Group has given back through their Community Contributors program.
Dr. Tom Galovic (Dr. Tom has a PhD!) started the Indy Plus Realty Group in 2014 with the intention of giving back to the community in a profound way. He created his own program, Community Contributors, to honor important individuals who truly make a difference in our communities.
“We know of no one else who is doing what we do to give back,” says Troy Dixon, aka NZ Troy, who is from New Zealand, and lives with his wife and two daughters in the Geist area. NZ Troy partnered with Dr. Tom in 2015 with Indy Plus Realty Group.
“I was drawn to the Indy Plus Realty Group due to their sense of fun and culture, for we are truly people-centered. The Community Contributors program is a great example of that,” shares Geist Luxury Agent Drew Keller, who lives in the area with his family and was a natural fit with the group.
The mission of the Community Contributors program is to provide financial savings to the people who provide extraordinary services to our nation and our communities every day. The Indy Plus Realty Group does this by providing a credit of their earned commission at closing for qualified clients.
“As a school administrator, I developed close relationships with our first responders,” shares Dr. Tom, who is a former high school principal. “I feel our educators and first responders should have more recognition, as do our military personnel.”
“We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we do value our commitment to our clients. Growing up in a very small town in New Zealand, our sense of community meant everything. Everyone who volunteered with our Fire Brigade, teachers, and first responders were all valued,” shares Troy Dixon, who ran a recent campaign for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, striking a “Zoolander” pose at the Fortville Fashion Show! (Geist April issue)
Dr. Tom, NZ Troy and Drew (sorry, no nickname yet) are seen out and about at open houses, from the sidelines at HSE Rugby matches (where NZ Troy is known as Coach Benji), Drew (no nickname yet!) coaches his daughter’s softball and Dr. Tom helps coach his son’s Futbol (Soccer) games.
All three men started in other industries and were drawn to real estate. It’s clear that they love what they do. “This is where my passion lies,” shares Drew, who handled contracts for his business ventures and for his brother, who played in the NFL.
There is a playful competitiveness among the team and all have a mutual respect for one another, firmly believing a rising tide raises all ships.
“We have fun doing this,” states Dr. Tom. “We value family and with our business, it’s the relationship piece that makes all the difference.”
Dr. Tom, NZ Troy and Drew (still no nickname!) have gravitated to one another based on shared values. Giving back is important to all who are on their team. Working on a stronger community is something that every agent bought into it and are passionate about it. All have their own reasons, but common thread is their belief in giving back to those who serve.
